Would you make more money selling a house with a big yard or a house and two extra lots?
Question by Steve Jones: Would you make more money selling a house with a big yard or a house and two extra lots?
My house sits on a large parcel of land. Technically, it is three parcels. The house is centered in the middle of one parcel with a large side yard and large back yard. If I were to sell my home would I make more selling a house and two lots or selling it all together? I think we should split it up but my wife says we won’t be able to sell the house as easily if the lots next to it are for sale and/or sold with construction started. We live in a neighborhood with mainly Victorian style homes. Any building be done on these lots I want to sell would have to get approved by the historic society.

I agree with your wife. The house is more attractive to buyers with the extra lots attached.
