Question by sam: Will signals from a wireless computer system penetrate solid house walls?
I am thinking of using a wireless system for my desktop PC. But the nearest phone point is in another room of the house, and the bricks in my Victorian-era house are very hard. Would the signal from the phone point pass through one brick wall to operate my PC – or is there likely to be a problem? I would like to have some advice before cancelling the contract I have with the cable company I use for broadband, TV and landline phone services.

It may penetrate or it may not. If you use router with class N, the chance to penetrate the wall is higher since the signal is stronger and the range is also longer

    Yes if its just one or two solid wall the signal will pass through with no problem, do expect the signal strength to degrade if you move further.

    The bricks in my house are hard as well lol, My wireless router is in the living room, and my computer upstairs. I can’t say for definite but it will probably be strong enough they wouldn’t make routers that don’t work through walls.

    you can Use a router with 54mps capability so that its range and signal strength wont decrease when there is more connections to the router also.
