what were the houses like for the rich during the industrial revolution?
Question by me: what were the houses like for the rich during the industrial revolution?
This can include victorian homes during the revolution. I would like maybe a picture of the layout and a link to a site with info on size, material, location, amenities etc. that rich peoples homes had during the industrial revolution.
p.s. Also, if you can include a link to a site where it talks about the technology that the rich and poor had during the industrial revolution , it would guarantee you 10 points. If you do this, i will get a link for another one of my questions and if you just say “yes”, you get an extra 10 points. 20 points in all.

I’m not quite sure about a link or any other things, but i can describe to you the basic layouts of city houses in the industrial revolution.
In the cites the main focus was to get as many people into one space as possible. So the houses along the street provided for more than one family. On the bottom floor, there were the business/the shops, and then the next floor above that was normal the shop owners, or the rich family that owned whatever was underneath. It was often well furnished, and had the best tools/supplies. The next floor above that was normally a middle class family, and the attic was normally accompanied by an artisan, or other ‘lesser’ person of the community. The higher up you were in the house, the lower the social rank of the person.
Furthermore at this time foyers were a large part of the normal cultural experience. People were striving to become more educated so they would gather together in the foyer, and often loby like areas of wealthy people’s house to discuss intellectual things.
Technology wise, the steam engine was the major innovation at that time period.
I apologize for not knowing more off the top of my head, but technology was not a large section covered in my AP history texts books, and that was two to three years ago that i covered this material. Hope it gives you at least a start though

Okay i decided to make a Big Brother House using the Sims 3. I’ve been making Big Brother Houses for a little while now, & i really love making the set, then the inner part of the house so it looks proper professional xD. Song- MGMT -Electric Feel(Justice remix) Anyways, let me describe the house. Kitchen/Dining Area- The Kitchen/Dining area are pretty heavily 60′s inspired. With the wooden covered wall as you enter the house you then face a wooden kitchen with a brick feel to it. There is also a little sitting area just from the Kitchen, so more ******ing can commense =). The Kitchen is pretty basic in my eyes, nothing too fancy but nothing too major, just the right size. The Dining area carries on the 60′s feel with a green theme to it. The walls are covered in some funky 60′s/victorian wallpaper complimented by a plain green wall. The dining table seats 10 comfortably, in a multicoloured arrangement of chairs. Bathroom- The Bathroom also carries the 60′s theme with a white/wooden feel to it. the bath/shower & sink all carry out the wooden feel. decorated in a fine oak. There is also a little seating area there, however there is only one sink & one bathroom, not alot of space for 10? Bedroom- The Bedroom could be considered a pretty Victorian inspired room, with the rich reds and wallpaper. The Bedroom i feel is pretty dull & not one of the best rooms in the house, although it does its job okay =). Living Room- Another room i feel pretty bad about. It carries the colours …
