Question by ??????? ? JON ? ???????: Could I build a brand new Second Empire or Victorian style house? The thing is, I really want a Victorian or Second Empire style house, but they’re so hard to find! And usually, for some reason, they’re abandoned or badly neglected. Are there companies that could build a new one for me? And would it cost a lot more than building a modern-style house? A Second Empire like this: or a Victorian like this: Best answer: Answer by Karen LYou can get anything you want built if you can pay for it. Yes, it probably would cost more to build an old style house. They had more detail, inside and out. One of the reasons people don’t build them much any more is that newer style houses are cheaper, or I’d have an older style house myself. You’d...

Question by helprhome: What is your opinion of Victorian style houses? Is this a house that most people think is neat or is it too old fashioned? A lot of them in North Texas have sold in the past year and there aren’t a lot on the market right now, so maybe it’s the style that has become unappealing? What do you think about that? If you remember the old TV program “Charmed”, it would remind you of that house. Thanks for your thoughts on this one! Best answer: Answer by ThatGuy!I love Victorian style houses. Is the one you’re looking at original? Old unique homes will hold thier value better than most if they are well maintained. You...

Question by it’sjustme79: Who here is in love with the allure of older bungalow/victorian style houses? The big porches………(sigh). Simple style……..big front porch columns, double gables…..(another sigh). Man I wish I ddnt live in an apartment. Best answer: Answer by sunshinegirlI agree with you completely they are just beyond words-wish I could afford one. What do you think? Answer below! Request! A very simple Victorian style pompadour and a few options for wearing it. You’ll need: bobby pins (not hair pins!) a brush or comb something to part your hair It has been brought to my attention that applying cornstarch to your roots can help provide volume to your pompadour. Wash-day hair has sebum at the roots which makes your hair look “greasy”...
