Question by Jojo: what color whould i paint my bathroom? we renovated our basement a few years ago, but we never really decorated the bathroom, so i want to paint it to liven it up a bit. for some reason my sister thought to put two different borders up though, one on top and one in the middle between the ceiling and floor. the top one has an ivy pattern, and the middle has like victorian style brown themed dolls?? i know, confusing. i really dont hate any color, so any suggestions would be appreciated! Question by Kugan: Roughly how long would it take for one person to paint a 3 bedroom house? I am taking a painting job for a 3 bedroom mid terrace Victorian house, including skirting boards, railings, and a few cupboards etc. Would it be possible to get the work done in two weeks/14 days? Question by Pamela S: Cost to paint a Victorian in Central PA? Hi, Does anyone have any idea of what the going rate would be to paint a Victorian in Central PA? It is a large Queen Anne style, about 60 windows, no turret. About just over 1/2 the windows are original and are 12 panes over 1 large pane. The windows in the 1st floor are all vinyl replacements. 3 entry doors total. The porches do not need painting. It will need the old paint scraped off although I believe that should be very easy. The house is currently covered with asbestos/cement shingles and the original siding underneath probably hasn’t been painted in at least 60 years. I pulled several of the asbestos shingles off and the paint on the original shingles underneath comes off with just minimal effort. I am not including...

Question by bourbonbiscuit: I have had an old Victorian pine cupboard stripped of paint – what is the best way to finish it now? I have an old Victorian kitchen cupboard, quite plain to look at with tongue and groove style doors. It had been covered in lead paint so I had it professionally stripped. I don’t know what to do with it once it has dried out. The man that stripped it said to wash it down with vinegar if the acid comes out of the wood as it dries. But what then…do I need to wax it – if so what type of wax? or should I varnish it? Also if it is best to wax it – is this a really messy job needed to be done outside or in the shed or can I do it in the house. Any help appreciated. My house was build in the 1880s and has a green “wash” of paint over the plaster on some walls. Does anyone know what this paint is and if it is harmful?
