Question by almondjoy: Houses in the Victorian Era? 10 pts!? I would like to know how a neighborhood would look like in the Victorian era. I’m reading the book, “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and I’m trying to understand how Jekyll’s house would look like. It talks about the different doors and ways to get to the house and stuff…so how would the house look like? I’m not asking it in a way like, ‘how far would his kitchen be from his family room’ or whatever. But if I were to make a 3-D figure of his neightborhood…what would the plan be? (Don’t worry, I’m not actually doing that :D ) So if you have any websites or any ideas of your own on house structure or architecture during the Victorian times, I’d...

The walls are made of horsehair plaster and I know that those don’t take too well to nails… but that the trim has a lip designed for hanging pictures like in the olden days. However, with time this has become less and less, and I would like to hang a mirror above the fireplace nail-free and I have wire, but I’m not sure what other piece of hardware I would need in order to use this technique. Best answer: Answer by JessicaYou need to form a hook in one end of the wire, hang this over the lip of the trim, and attach the other end to the mirror, usually via a hole or loop on the back of the mirror or frame.
