How to Spot Genuine Antique Dining Chairs When investing in antique dining chairs, spotting the genuine antique from a fake is not always straightforward. Period 18th century antique dining chairs have been revived many times during the Victorian era, and all through the 20th century, so at best these pieces can be referred to as revivals or even reproductions rather than fakes.   The cost of 18th century antique dining chairs can be prohibitively expensive anyway, so for those of us on a more modest budget, revival and reproduction would be the way to go.
