Question by boo kitty: decorating a victorian house…? I’m in the process of purchasing my favorite house in the world, an 1860′s victorian house. My husband is going to do all the restoring and I’m doing all the decorating. I just wish that I had pictures of various Victorian or “country cottage” style rooms. Are there any good websites that showing pictures like this? I like antique designs, and I like either clean bright colors & styles (lilacs, baby blues, crystal, white wood) or dark victorian styles ( plums, burgundy, hunter green, cast iron, dark wood) so either would be great. Question by Derick S: Need help decorating older bathroom with a green sink.? I am currently renting an apartment. Its a great old victorian house that was split into a 4 plex. Its got lots of potential, but the previous tenant went a little crazy with the paint. The first place I want to start is the bathroom. I have a sea foam green sink and lavender walls. I can’t replace the sink, so I need to keep it. Its also a very small space, and I’m on the top floor so I half of the ceiling is the at the pitch of the roof. Anyone up for the challenge? I am staining the original wainscotting to a mahogany stain. I’m looking for color matches that would go with the stain and stay within the victorian period.
