victorian housesRoughly how long would it take for one person to paint a 3 bedroom house? victorian houses

Question by Kugan: Roughly how long would it take for one person to paint a 3 bedroom house?
I am taking a painting job for a 3 bedroom mid terrace Victorian house, including skirting boards, railings, and a few cupboards etc. Would it be possible to get the work done in two weeks/14 days? Or less? This would be in England, and the autumn weather may mean the paint dries a little slower, but any estimates on how long this might take, or other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

It will depend on how many rooms you have in total, how big they are and how many coats of paint you are doing, plus if you need to do a white coat on the walls then the colour paint.

But (based on my friends house with 3 bedrooms) doing 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, say 2 bathrooms and 2 livings rooms. If you start early (i.e. 9 in the morning) and continue working until like 5 then 2 weeks should be planty of time. While one room is drying, you can obviously start in another room.

So planning in out in days, assuming you are doing 2 coats of paint in each room:
1st day: 1st coat of bedroom 1 in morning and bathroom 1 in afternoon
2nd day: 1st coat of bedroom 2 in morning and bathroom 2 in afternoon
3rd day: 2nd coat of bedroom 1 in morning and bathroom 1 in afternoon
4th day: 2nd coat of bedroom 2 in morning and bathroom 2 in afternoon
5th day: 1st coat of bedroom 3 in morning and living room 1in afternoon
6th day: 1st coat of living room 2 in morning and dining room in afternoon
7th day: 2nd coat of bedroom 3 in morning and living room 1in afternoon
8th day: 2nd coat of living room 2 in morning and dining room in afternoon.

that is of course assuming around 4 hours to paint each room and no white coat first.
However if you can stick to that and really work hard then you will have the extra days to do any touch ups, clean up any mess and if there are more rooms, then do those as well.

    Hope i helped =)
