I am an owner of a Victorian era home. It is a 3 storey, 8 bedroom home which is over 100 yrs old. It is brick construction, with all it’s original fixturing and finishes intact inside. The features are too many to mention, but a few are hardwood floors throughout, wide oak baseboards and mouldings, oak wainscotting with leather panel inserts, large sliding oak doors, panel doors, plaster ceiling medallion details, wall light sconces and chandeliers throughout, main stairs and servants stairs, a large stained glass window pre Raphaelite era, multiple fireplaces, main and 2nd floor sun porches and balconies, large claw foot bath tubs and original circular showers, a 2 story carriage house ( instead of a garage ), stone basement, and lots more.
Exterior and interior materials may vary depending on the climate where the Victorian era home is built, ( my brick home is in Canada, but you may find more wood exteriors south ), but the detailing and accents are still typically Victorian.
A good site to research Victorian era homes is “Victoriana.com”, or just search “Victoriana” and you should find numerous other sites to check out.
Good luck, I hope this helps.
